Chandan Mahimkar is a designer, creative director, typographer, letterer, mentor and teacher. In a career spanning over 2 decades Chandan has guided numerous young designers, art directors and students to set up their freelance careers and creative entrepreneurships. He has successfully managed a design division for L&K Saatchi & Saatchi, India for almost 8 years. He was a part of the core team that had made Law & Kenneth the No.1 independent communications agency in India.

His design work and strategies have helped many Indian brands & companies like The Hero Group, RPSG Group, Saregama Music, GoAir, ITC Personal Care, Sterling Holidays, Kent RO, Gini & Jony, Bombay Dyeing, Reliance Wellness and many more.

Now he runs his own successful design studio in Mumbai for over 3 years (www.mahimkar.com), handling renowned Indian and international brands. As a lettering artist he has worked & collaborated for top Indian and international brands like The Washington Post, Design Sponge, Levi’s India, Alok Nanda and Company, Open Strategy & Design and Verve Magazine. His lettering work has been featured by I amsterdam, Passion Passport, Design Milk and AIGA. Chandan is also a 2-time Goodtype & Typism book artist.

Chandan also loves to design spaces; he has helped co-create some of the most raved bars and restaurants in Mumbai and Pune like The Tanjore Tiffin Room, WTF!, The Big Nasty!, Loca Loca, Sassy Spoon, Wicked China and House of Mandarin.
