In a world that is increasingly standardised, a hand lettered script is a breath of fresh air that adds a unique, human touch to any visual representation.

The written word has power. It allows one to emote, express and enhance a message in a very personal way. Calligraphy is not old school any more, it’s about bringing back that love, and even embracing technology and finding the true blend between the old and the new. 

The core of Calligraphy and lettering is to breathe life into words and communication that are all around us, to create art with it, and to be able to make it so much more visually appealing. 

This conversation aims to explore the different avenues in which calligraphy, lettering and type design are moving towards. Each panel member will discuss her/his journey from passion to profession. The challenges faced, the highs and the lows, the complimentary aspects of technology, the decision to pick an otherwise considered niche field and how each one has been able to carve out an entrepreneurial path for themselves and taken this art form to the next level in a fundamentally viable business route.
